Our Pastors

Pastors Ken and Heather are the founding pastors of The Difference Church.  After answering God's call to ministry, they both attended Rhema Bible Training Center, which is where God brought them together.  Pastor Heather graduated in 1989 with a heart and passion for youth ministry, while  Pastor Ken, affectionately known as "PK", graduated in 1990 with a heart and a passion to see the lost come to Christ.

Pastor Heather is from Oregon and Pastor Ken is from Alabama (which is why he talks funny).  Following PK's  graduation, he and Pastor Heather got married in July 1990.  After spending the next few months praying about the future of their ministry together, the Holy Spirit led them to move to Pendleton, Oregon.   They served as volunteers in a local church for 15 years, serving in every ministry of the church.  Pastor Heather also traveled overseas ministering in Scotland, Thailand, Malaysia, and Africa.  In 2006,  the Lord began to move on their hearts to pioneer a church in Albany, Oregon.

At the Lord's direction, they moved to Albany in July of 2007.  As they continued to seek the Lord for His timing, the Lord instructed them to start The Difference Church on October 8, 2009.  And so it began.  With two college age young adults, meeting in their living room, along with their son, Elijah, Pastors Ken and Heather launched The Difference Church.

However, The Difference Church did not begin in a building or a living room, but in the hearts of two ordinary people with a heart to do extraordinary things in the Willamette Valley and beyond.  Pastors Ken and Heather have a passion to help people discover their God given purpose and to walk out that purpose with a passion for God.   As PK says often, "Living in the Kingdom, by the Kingdom, and for the Kingdom is the sole reason for our existence".

Their message is a message of walking in love, walking by faith, and being led by the Holy Spirit.  They truly believe that developing in these three areas will be the answer to any challenge that you will ever face in life.
